Chokers

Choosing a choker

A choker sits where the neck meets the collarbone, so it draws attention to the face and works with anything that leaves that area open: strapless, off-the-shoulder, a deep V or a simple T-shirt. Because it is short, it is also the first layer in any stack, with apendant necklaceor along chainbelow it.

Fit is more important here than with any other necklace. Measure around the base of your neck and add 1–2 cm; most Lemon chokers come with an extender so you can loosen them for a turtleneck. A smooth snake chain lies flattest, a fine link chain is lightest and a small pendant adds a focal point. If you want a little more length, a 40–45 cmchain necklaceis the next step. Exact lengths are on each product page.

How tight should a choker be?

It should sit at the base of the neck without pressing: measure around your neck and add 1–2 cm, then use the extender listed on the product page to fine-tune.

What is the difference between a choker and a chain necklace?

Length. A choker is 35–40 cm and sits high on the neck; a chain necklace is 40–45 cm or longer and rests lower.

Can I layer a choker with other necklaces?

Yes, it is the ideal first layer. Add a pendant at 45 cm and a long chain at 60 cm or more for a three-length look.
