Choosing a chain necklace
The link decides the character. A cable chain has uniform oval links and is the classic lightweight everyday option; a curb chain has flattened interlocking links that lie flat and catch more light; a rope chain twists two strands together for texture; a box chain is square and strong, ideal for carrying apendant; and a snake chain is smooth and fluid, almost like a cord.
Most Lemon chains sit between 40 and 50 cm and come with an extender, so the same chain works as achoker-lengthpiece with a high neckline or a little lower over a shirt. Stack a fine chain with along necklaceor choose alayered setif you prefer the combination ready-made. The exact link width, length and plating of each chain are on its product page.
What chain length should I choose?
40–45 cm sits at the base of the neck and suits most necklines; 45–50 cm rests a little lower near the collarbone. The extender listed on the product page adds a few centimetres of adjustment.
Which chain is best for a pendant?
Box, cable and curb chains hold a pendant well because the links are strong and the bail slides freely. Snake and rope chains suit wearing alone or with a small charm.
Will a fine chain tangle?
Fine chains can knot if thrown in a drawer. Fasten the clasp before storing, hang the chain or lay it flat, and it will stay straight.
